Are you keeping your membership informed? Do you publish a newsletter for them to read? If not, it may be something that your club would like to do. All you need is a willing volunteer!
I am happy to report that most of the clubs in Division 3 do publish some sort of newsletter of club events and distribute it to the membership. Some are done weekly while others are done bi-weekly or even monthly. It is a great way to keep the membership up to date on Kiwanis International activities and initiatives as well as pointing out resources for them to review. This is especially true if it is distributed on line. It can also be used to remind members that we are part of a world wide organization and therefore have a commitment to helping children in other countries. So, if your club doesn't have a newsletter, maybe your should consider starting one.

ELIMINATE PROJECT COORDINATOR SPEAKS
January 24, 2012
Mary Alice Marchand, Division 3 Coordinator for the ELIMINATE project has officially started her visits to Div. 3 clubs to give the first of several presentations on the Kiwanis world wide service project - ELIMINATE. Mary Alice attended both the Sarnia-Lambton Golden K meeting and the Kiwanis Club of the Seaway meeting on January 24th to speak to club members about this project, the timeline and expectations from each club. EC&C have entered into this project late due to our commitment to the District Children's Project which rapped up Sept. 31, 2011. ELIMINATE is a 5 yr. project to eliminate maternal neo-natal tetanus which causes the deaths of thousands of babies every year in 39 countries worldwide.

Division 3 DCM Activities
Jan. 14, 2012 - Windsor, Ontario
Division 3's Council meeting took place on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at the Windsor-Roseland Golf and Curling Club. My sincere thanks go to all club representatives who took time out of their day to attend this event. Past Governor Chuck McIlravey and wife Dorothy traveled in very poor conditions on Friday from Toronto so he could fulfill his promise to conduct a mini-growth seminar at our meeting. I am pleased to say that 9 out of 10 clubs in the division were represented with a total of 26 attendees.
Each club was provided with several pieces of important information regarding the operation within our division as well as Region A events and upcoming events. An update on the ELIMINATE project was provided by Divisional Lead Mary Alice Marchand. She is currently making the rounds to each club to give a presentation about ELIMINATE and to spark the idea of giving to this very worthwhile project. The goal worldwide is $110 million over a 5 year period which started in 2010. EC&C District did not join the project until our promise to the Children's Project against HIV/Aids was completed on Sept. 31, 2011. A wrap up of this project will be provided at the EC&C Convention in Barbados in May.
Victoria Rode, LG Division 2of Eastern Canada Key Club was also in attendance. Victoria braved the highway from Ingersoll to attend and to inform the members about the up-coming Key Club Convention in London, Ontario April 13-15th, 2012. Each club within the division is encouraged to donate $400.00 so that the Key Club convention costs can be kept down to a reasonable rate.
PG Chuck gave his growth presentation which was excellent.
Below are some pictures of the council meeting and presentations made.
