100 Days of Service
January 8th marks
the 100th day of Kiwanis service in our community for this year and it is a special
day to celebrate the many ways we serve the children of the world. 100
Years of Kiwanis in Canada will be the highlight of both the District and
International Conventions so it will be great to attend one or both events.
100 Ways for Service
A number of months
ago we introduced a summary of all club sponsored service projects in Division
3. It is so impressive to see the
diversity of service in both volunteer and financial commitments to our
communities. Clubs have some common
elements, yet each one has unique projects that may be of interest to
others. We also gathered information on the
variety of methods used in fundraising to support Kiwanis service. These summary charts will be shared and
revised at the DCM January 16, 2016.
Division Caucus Meeting ~ January 16
Much of this meeting will be team discussions: Job-Alike Teams: Presidents, Secretaries,
Treasurers, Directors, Committee Chairs - Interclubs, Membership; Club Teams; Formula Teams. We will also be looking for nominations
for Lieutenant Governor Elect for 2016-17 as an element of effective succession
planning. The meeting will be held at the Active Lifestyle Centre, 20 Merritt
Ave, Chatham from 10 - 12.
Division Caucus Meeting ~ April 9 - Kiwanis Kiosks: we are still looking for ideas and
volunteers to present these 20 minute sessions on Kiwanis fellowship and
service. All members are encouraged to
attend to learn more about best practices, share successful activities and
brainstorm future plans.

New Members
We are very pleased to welcome new members into our clubs ~
a total of 16 so far this year.
Chatham-Kent - Kerry
Halls
Sarnia Lambton
Golden K - Brian Rae, Philip Tock, Tony Wheeler
Please let me know if you would like me to participate in
the induction of a new member to your club.
I'd love to join you and to welcome them into the Kiwanis Family.
Congratulations - and a Shout Out to:
Archie Kerr, named
"Super Recruiter" by the Sarnia Lambton Golden K for
bringing in 3 of the 7 new members in the first quarter of the year. Well done - and although Archie says he has
no friends left, he is certainly a friend of Kiwanis and is not shy about
sharing his love for service in the community.
Special Events
Note the dates of up-coming events within the Division and if you have
anything planned that you would like shared, please let me know for inclusion
in the next newsletter. We all know the
importance of interclubs and joining in divisional events so we can meet fellow
Kiwanians and share pride in our clubs.
This is particularly important for new members as they learn more about
what it means to progress from individual club member to Kiwanian.
