Golden K Kiwanis Club leaves a Legacy of Service

This past Tuesday, Sarnia-Lambton Golden K dedicated their 25 year anniversary project in McGibbon Park alongside the Sarnia Lochiel Kiwanis Centre.  The project consists of a concrete pad with access from the sidewalk for persons with mobility devices.  Over the pad is an awning to protect people from the sun during a normal summer.
The dedication ceremony took place after the regular club meeting and was attended by the Mayor, members of Council and representatives from several tenants of the building.  We had the pleasure of welcoming Past Governor Hope Markes, PLG Bud Orr and his wife Jackie.  Many members of the Club were on hand to witness the dedication and share with everyone the celebration cake.
The Mayor and Club President, Mike Shimmin unveiled the plaque.  We were fortunate that we managed to get everything done before another rain shower soaked the area.
